Welcome to free fishing UK in the Anglian Region. From the Humber Estuary
in the North to the Thames Estuary in the South.
With some of the best
coarse fishing in the country, the Anglian Region is the largest
of the eight Environment Agency regions. With over 4750 km of river
and drain fishing, plus many hundreds of still waters. The region
is split into three areas: Northern, Central and Eastern Areas.
Northern
Area: Predominantly Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and
Rutland.
Central
Area: Predominantly Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
Eastern Area: Predominantly Norfolk, Suffolk and Rutland.
All
of the regions rivers are classed as lowland fisheries, with bream,
pike and roach the dominant species in most flowing waters.
Barbel, chub and dace become important species in the upper reaches of major
rivers.
